The Wonder-Terrace: Liverpool’s rooftop beer garden is ready for summer
Summer in Liverpool is finally on its way, and there’s no better time to head up to the Wonder-Terrace. Our rooftop garden sits a few storeys above Parr Street, looking out over Slater Street and the city beyond, and it’s exactly the kind of open-air spot the city has been short of. There aren’t many proper roof terraces or big beer garden spaces in the city centre, so getting a few floors up and away from the street really does feel like a little escape.

The space was a completely empty rooftop not that long ago. Now it’s been transformed top to bottom, with a woodchip floor, festoon lighting strung overhead, tables, bench seating and awnings for when you want a bit of shade. You get to it through the entrance upstairs at Almost Famous, and once you’re up there it’s all yours to settle into.
The Wonder-Terrace has its own bar, so you’re never far from a cold drink.
There’s beer on, classic house cocktails like margs and pornstars, and a Wonder Slush that changes every week if you fancy something a bit different. When it comes to food, you can go straight for one of our Famous burgers, and our advice is don’t skimp on the bacon bacon mayo. If you’d rather pile up the table and share, load it with buttermilk fried chicken blasts, mac and cheese balls, wonderdusted tater tots and loaded fries. You can grab the full menu either by popping downstairs or ordering straight from your table with the QR code.
The whole thing runs on a walk-in basis, so there’s no need to book. Just turn up whenever it suits, whether that’s an after-work drink, a lazy lunch in the sun or a late catch-up with mates. With a capacity of 150 there’s plenty of room, which makes it just as good for a big group getting together as it is for a quiet pint with one or two others.
We’re open every day of the week, from midday for an early start, right through golden hour to 9pm. If the sun’s out, it’s on the whole time, so there’s genuinely no better place in town to catch it. Grab a drink, add a few sides to share, and let the afternoon roll into evening.
The Wonder-Terrace is a limited-time thing and it’ll be with us until around the end of September, so the warm months are the time to make the most of it. The sun’s coming, the bar’s stocked and the burgers are ready. Come and find us up on the roof.
